Session 1

Want to bring your lessons to “life” and have students “live” the content you are teaching? This highly interactive session will assist you in getting started with augmented and virtual reality in your classroom. Resources, examples, and hands-on opportunities will be provided, as well as ideas of how to integrate this emerging technology into the curriculum. Come and experience what all the hype is about, and how it can make a difference in your classroom, and for your students.

Hyper Docs are a great tool to help students take charge of their learning and continue to develop 21st century skills. Participants will learn about the key components of Hyper Docs and how to use them to differentiate and engage students in all content areas.

Participants will learn what a Hyper Doc is, how to create one, and how to use Hyper Docs for differentiation. Teachers will also learn how Hyper Docs differ from electronic worksheets and the 21st century skill the students will develop from completing a Hyper Doc.

In this session attendees will gain an understanding of the new Google Sites. Attendees will be introduced to the basics of setting up a new site, inserting various items such as text, video and images. Examples of student sites and a building technology site will be shared as well.

Session 2

Laurie Green

Join Mrs. Geeky and attend this hands on session and discover how far Legos can go in your curriculum. From Math manipulative in a variety of concepts to Science assistant teaching gear rations, and engineering nomenclature. Then our little Lego can be found as an accessory to a very simple, easy to use robot named Edison that can be a great resource for problem based challenges. You will leave this session with new ideas and resources that will keep your Legos busy and students learning in the classroom.

Have you ever caught a student doodling? New research is proving that doodling can help students make connections to content. Sketchnoting is a way to purposefully doodle to capture thoughts and ideas. This session will feature resources to help teachers get started with sketchnoting and resources to incorporate sketchnotes into their lessons. You might be thinking to yourself, "I can't draw!". Have no fear, you don't need any artistic ability to be successful in this session.

This engaging session will provide educators of early learners (Pre-K-2) tips and tricks of how to successfully manage GSuite with littles and get your students all in the right place to begin an activity/project, resources and templates that correlate with content and technology standards that you can take back and use in your classroom, and student and teacher examples or projects. I will also share some of the latest trends and up and coming resources and ideas that have been used in our blended learning environment, such as coding, Google Expeditions, and virtual and augmented reality lessons.

Session 3

Do you want to help students see where events took place or document key locations? How about taking a tour of a location? This session will discuss using Lit Trips and Tours for Google Earth. Participants will see how Lit Trips really come to life in the new Google Earth.

Do you want a quick and easy way for your students to create a presentation that includes images, narration, and music? During this session, we will explore how to use three Chrome extensions along with Google Slides: Save to Google Drive, DriveSlides, and ViewedIt. These are also great tools for teachers to use to commemorate a field trip, showcase an assembly, create lessons and digital cards, and so much more!

Google Expeditions gives students an opportunity to experience content with virtual reality. Expeditions allows you to take your class anywhere in the world! Come experience the Google Expeditions kit and learn how you can use it in your classroom.

Legos pull double duty as both low and high tech resources for Makerspaces. Join Mrs. Geeky and you will have fun in this hands on session discovering how you can create a customized Makerspace using almost nothing but Legos. We will start with exploring the various ways in which Legos are used as a low tech resource in a Makerspace. Then we will integrate Legos with easy to use resources such as the Lego Motors, Edison, and Go Pi Go enabling students to further their tinkering, creativity and inventing.

You will leave with resources, ideas and texting families to donate those Legos in the basement to your class.

When we hear about Makey Makey, we tend to think about how you can make a piano out of bananas. But Makey Makey is much more than that in today's Maker Movement. ITIP Ohio, a non profit agency for educational technology, is currently a Makey Makey training partner. Come hear how Invention Literacy can be integrated using Makey Makey and how this training partnership can assist you.

As participants come in, I will have several drones available for participants to fly using programs my students created so they can have hands-on experience with the content of the presentation.

When the presentation begins, the participants will be directed to an overview of the Tynker Drone 101 course (https://www.tynker.com/school/courses/show?id=63-drone-101#/lesson-modules). They will be walked through the different components of the course and how different components meet technology and core standards.

A video of my students will be shown that highlights students programming online, connecting the app and flying drones.

Participants can then interact with the program and in groups program and fly drones. They will be given challenges to program such as create a square, fly a given sequence of steps, try to land on a target, write a program using either Java Script or Python blocks ...

Come and explore the range of free tools that are now available to teach coding to elementary students. Starting with the Code.org resources we will look at how coding can be taught to the youngest learners.

Some things are just too good to keep to yourself! This session will showcase tools such as Quizlet Live, Quizizz, Nearpod, and more. Come to this session to learn and try these free tools, and see how they can be used for student assessment.

Google Sheets is a web-based spreadsheet application that allows users to share data live online. Sheets is compatible with Microsoft Excel and CSV (Common Separated Values) files. We will learn how to enter information, add basic formulas (sum, max, min, average), generate a compelling chart, and create pixel art. We will explore how to add functionality to Sheets by adding tools designed by third-party developers.

By combining two free programs - Everfi Radius and Code.org CS in Algebra - students will be introduced to a variety of STEM and algebra concepts through interactive activities. The students will use their skills to code a simple video game. Everything is in place for you to begin showing students Monday how you can have "another day I(they) DID use algebra."
