Students indicate to their guidance counselor that they would like to participate in school within a school as their path to graduation.
Students and teacher advisors work together to discuss student goals and interest as well as evaluate which Graduation Requirements, if any, have already been met in the student's high school work. This may take place over 1 or 2 meetings.
Students identify academic and career goals.
Students identify traditional classes, outside school opportunities, and other flexible pathways that would help them meet their academic and career goals, and the remaining Graduation Requirements.
Students collect and create evidence of skill in the graduation requirements through traditional classes and other learning opportunities, with the help of an advisor.
Students submit evidence of graduation proficiencies to an evidence review team that includes certified teachers from each academic area. This team verifies that the evidence meets proficiency.
