Time will go on like always.
I will change.
You will change.
We’ll both move on
and grow apart.
But, I’ll always have days in which you're remembered.
Even though you won’t be with me.
Those days will feel like us.
Time To Let Go
We have shattered.
It is only certain moments that decisive me.
Moments in which the old you seeps through
and finds his way into our conversations.
He mocks me.
Letting me know,
you’ll never be the same.
You’ll never be mine again.
Silence
The unspoken words between us speak louder
than anything we could have ever said to each other.
They scream,
“ We are over.”
A New Year
The Christmas tree is stored away,
and a leaf on mother’s peach tree has bloomed.
Everyone gathers around
looking back at what they have done
and what has happened.
Ready to move forward,
resolutions are in order.
Some of the first signs of a new year.
It is a breath of fresh air.
A chance to start anew.
Banessa Zarate Poem
The life of a child is simple,
because they see everything with joy,
and are afraid of the monsters under the bed,
they fear the ghost in the hallways at night,
until
we fear what we can’t see,
I fear leaving with regrets,
we aren’t scared of the dark,
we are scared of what's behind it,
we aren’t scared of the monsters in our closet,
we are scared of the monsters inside,
fear can control us!
A Poem by Ricky Horvath
I’m a wounded bird who cannot yet fly
I have hopes and dreams to soar the sky
These hopes and dreams seem out of reach
Yet I keep trying, because I am easy to teach
Teach me to love and to not hate
Teach me to forgive and stand for what is right
So that I might finally be the bird that someday takes flight
