The Diploma Program

ANNOUNCEMENT TO LCHS IB GRADUATES MAY 2024:

IB Exam results will be released July 6, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. If you need your personal information to log into candidates.ibo.org, you need to contact Ms. Sladen @ 916.897.1358. Most of you have already texted her. She will be able to give you your personal and PIN codes. These entries must be typed exactly how they are on the paper. IB does not make a mistake. Also, you may need to change your browser. FireFox is also an option. If by chance you are locked out from the site, wait thirty (30) minutes and enter again. Good luck! Mr. De Luca

Laguna Creek High School is the only high school in Elk Grove Unified to offer the IB Diploma Program.

Advantages of pursuing the full diploma:

• Coordinated education

  • • Course all have inquiry-based focus

    • Hands-on investigations

    • Choice in major projects and assessments

    • Common topics taught in many classes

    • Coordination of due dates

• Sense of community among students and teachers

• Recognition worldwide

• International focus

• Benefits offered by colleges via credits or other privileges to students who complete the Diploma Program

• Additional advantages:

  • • IB requires inquiry-based learning to complete required internal assessments (completed while taking the courses).

    • IB external assessment (completed at the end of Year 2) requires extensive writing and contains little if any multiple choice.

    • A rigorous senior year, which is valued by colleges and universities.

How to apply:

• For students currently within Elk Grove Unified School District, please contact LCHS IB Counselor, Ashley Gossen (agossen@egusd.net).

• For students currently outside Elk Grove Unified School District, please contact EGUSD Secondary Education at at 686-7706.
