East Greenwich

Hall of Fame

Our Mission

The East Greenwich Athletic Hall of Fame is an organization that was created to recognize and honor the many athletes, coaches and volunteers that have played significant roles in perpetuating the success of the town’s athletic tradition.

Our Quote

“ The Town of East Greenwich has an incredible athletic tradition and as a resident of the town, and someone who grew up in the town, it makes me very proud. The tradition wouldn’t be what it is without the dedication of the athletes, coaches and volunteers and the Hall of Fame exists to honor and recognize those many people.”- Guy Asadorian

Brief History

The EG Athletic Hall of Fame was started by a group of EG Townies in 1962 when they inducted Anthony Tar Tar Ucci as the first athlete to the hall. Inductions were made annually when Bruce Mastracchio took over the process in the early 1970s. Inductions were made up until 1997, with a hiatus from 75-85 and 87-88. The current committee members got together and decided to start up the process again in 2015 and inducted 4 members into the HOF that year for the first time in 18 years. The upcoming 2020 class will be the 6th induction class since the restart of the process in 2015.
