I was the starting point guard on 2 consecutive championship teams in 1971 and 1972. I played for the legendary Coach Cacieri. My first year coaching at EGHS was 1979. Coached varsity from 1987-2005 and won championship in1991. Jv coach 2005-2016. Varsity coach from 2016-present. Won championship in 2019. Worked for EG recreation for over 30 years primarily running basketball programs. Inducted into hall of fame in 2016. Have been a committee member since 2015.

In 2014 Bruce Mastracchio asked me if I’d like to organize an effort to re-start the Hall of Fame inductions after an 18 year hiatus. I called Jeff Santos and together we agreed to get it going again. We then reached out to the other committee members and they agreed to help out so that’s how it got going. I am a 1982 graduate of EGHS and still live in the town. So I feel a strong connection to the EG athletic program (I played baseball and football there) and wanted to give back to the community which is why I agreed to do this.

I became involved with the Board at the request of Bruce Mastracchio who has been such an incredible force for all things East Greenwich. I believe he was also recruiting Guy Asadorian at the same time and I couldn't say "no" to either of these two gentlemen as I not only consider them as friends but I also have the utmost respect for both. The committee that has evolved over the years is a very dedicated team of men and women who have EG "running thru their veins" and all have competed athletically for EG. It is truly a privilege to be involved with this and to help honor EG athletes from past years - and it is a lot of fun!

In 2014 when Jeff and Guy asked if I would get involved with the committee, my answer was an immediate yes! I feel it is so important to recognize all our athletes, coaches and other members of our East Greenwich Athletic Community for their hard work, dedication, skill, and passion for the East Greenwich Sports Program.
I want others to feel the pride I felt in 1995 when I was the 2nd female to be inducted. It was such an honor being recognaized for something that has been so important to me. Playing 3-sports at East Greenwich High School and coaching field hockey and basketball have brought life long memories and realtionships that I cherish every day.

In 2014, Bruce Mastracchio reached out to myself and classmate Guy Asadorian on reviving the East Greenwich Athletic Hall of Fame which had not inducted any members since 1997. While we both have similar motivations, mine stem from being a long time East Greenwich Resident from a family with deep roots in East Greenwich spanning over 4 generations. As a result, I have great pride in our community and heritage. I graduated from East Greenwich High School in 1982 and my parents and children graduated from East Greenwich, as well. As I grew up, athletics allowed me to meet and build great friendships, learn the values of teamwork, sportsmanship and what it means to be an Avenger. These lessons started at home, but were cultivated and strengthened from some of the great coaches and educators in its rich history. A special thanks to the Hall of Fame committee. I know we are all proud having inducted a class every year since, starting with the class of 2015. Go EG!!!
