East Grand Rapids High School (EGRHS) Theatre stages multiple productions during the school year. The season typically includes a fall play, a winter play, and a spring musical, as well as a student-directed play and a 24-Hour Theatre festival. The school's Drama Club is a member of the International Thespian Society and hosts an annual Induction and Recognition Ceremony to celebrate students' accomplishments in the arts. Past sponsored events include trips to Chicago and The Stratford Theatre Festival in Ontario, Canada.
EGRHS theatre productions are open to all EGRHS students - everyone is welcome! In addition to acting roles, students are needed for many other areas of the production including stage management, sound and light design, stage crew, costuming, make-up, publicity, set construction, ushering, and house management. See the Audition page for more details about how you can get involved.
The Drama Club generally meets the 1st Tuesday of the month at 3:05 pm in the Little Auditorium. All students are welcome! Check out the EGRHS Drama Club page for more information, including a schedule of upcoming meetings and events.
