2020 Prom

A Royal Affair

The school board has approved a date for prom. Please remember that this is all still dependent on state guidelines and the approval of the Greene County Health Department.

General Prom Information

The Eastern Greene High School prom will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020

The grand march will start at 8:00 pm in the high school gym.

The dance will run from 9:00 pm until midnight in the high school gym.

After prom will take place from 12:30 am until 3:30 am following the prom in the middle school gym

Juniors and seniors in good standing at EGHS are eligible to attend prom and bring one guest.

Dress Code

You must wear formal attire (tux and gown, or suit with tie and a formal dress) at the prom and remain in formal attire until the prom ends at 12:00 a.m.

No open midriff style dresses are permitted. This includes two-piece dresses with an exposed area between the top and bottom that is larger than one inch and one-piece dresses that have cutouts that expose a large portion of the abdominal area.

Hats, shorts, and jeans are not appropriate for a formal, indoor event.

Prom Rules

1. Students must follow all Greene County Board of Health regulations and those mandated by the state and approved by the school board.

2. You must have a ticket to enter the prom. Purchase your tickets and register with Mrs. Finn. All students and guests must be registered.

3. Seniors and members of the prom committee receive their prom ticket at no charge. All others MUST purchase a ticket.

4. TICKETS WILL ONLY BE SOLD BEFORE SCHOOL OR AFTER SCHOOL.

5. The dance will be held from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

6. You must wear formal attire (tux and gown, or suit with tie and a formal dress) at the prom and remain in formal attire until the prom ends at 12:00 a.m. No open midriff style dresses are permitted. No jeans, shorts, or hats (except those designed as part of the formal attire).

7. Students will change into informal attire after 12:00 a.m. in appropriate building restrooms only.

8. The Grand March will be held in the high school gym starting at 7:30 PM. Please plan to arrive no later than 7:15 in order to allow time for registration. Grand March for the 2020 prom will be limited to prom attendees and their guests. Grand March will be live streamed. The link will be provided as we near the date.

9. ALL MEMBERS of the PROM COURT must attend Grand March. Court members who are not present for Grand March will NOT be eligible for selection as prom royalty. The King, Queen, Prince and Princess will be crowned at the end of the Grand March.

10. The prom will be chaperoned by administrators and teachers dressed in appropriate attire.

11. No one older than 21, excluding chaperones and workers, is allowed at prom.

12. Anyone suspected of drinking alcoholic beverages or using illicit drugs before or during prom, or before or during after-prom, will be detained while parents and police officers are contacted. Those involved in illegal substance use will be subject to Indiana Law Enforcement, and will be subject to disciplinary action as stated in the Eastern High School Student Handbook.

13. A professional photographer will be on site to take professional photographs. All couples are encouraged to have their photo taken at NO CHARGE in order to be included in the album.

The prom registration link is ONLY available to students when logged into their Eastern Greene student email account. If you get an error when you click on the link, you must log out of all other email accounts, log into your EGHS email account, and then click the link again. This includes an error saying you need request access to the link. That is an error on your end. Log out of all email accounts, log into your EGHS email and try again.

Ticket Prices:

$35 for EGHS students or graduates

$40 for guests who are NOT EGHS students or graduates

Prom Photos

We have once again partnered with Janelle Spencer to provide onsite photography. We encourage all of our prom attendees to have their photos taken free of charge. These photos will be published in the prom memory book, so whether you intend to purchase photos or not, we want you in our memory book. Should you wish to purchase either a memory book or a custom photos, the forms are available in Mrs. Finn's room, Mrs. Rosenplot's room, the library, and the main office. 2020 After Prom

You MUST be registered for prom to be

allowed to attend after-prom.

The 2020 After-Prom will be held at the middle school gym.

The theme is Game Night!

There will be Sumo suits, Twister, Connect 4, Trikes, Retro obstacle course, shooting arcade game, and a prize wheel.

We will have a DJ, Cornhole tournament, 3 on 3 tournament, euchre tournament, prizes and food.

Prom Court Nominations

Nominations for prom court may only be made by members of the EGHS junior and senior classes. You MUST be logged into your EGHS email account. If you are logged into your email on your phone and you get an error, you will not be able to use your phone. You will need to use a computer to make nominations.

  • Seniors nominate seniors for king and queen, while juniors nominate juniors for prince and princess.
  • When the actual voting takes place, seniors will select the prince and princess and juniors will select king and queen.

Elections will take place on Friday, April 24th. Please take a moment during that time to place your vote. Remember, Seniors will elect the prince and princess while juniors will elect king and queen.
