This half term we have got lots of exciting things to learn. We are starting with our topic 'All about me' where children will be labelling body parts and learning about the Zones of Regulation.
Across this half term we will also be exploring seasonal changes that happen during autumn and we will be creating our own weather diaries.
We have settled into Year 1 brilliantly! We have been enjoying lots of activities and lessons and have really got off to a good start.
Well done to all of the children for coming back to school with a positive attitude and an enthusiasm for this new, exciting year!
PE & OAA
We have been enjoying our PE lessons on Functional Skills and Team Building over the last few weeks. This week we have been working on our hopping, skipping and jumping and have been trusting our friends to guide us around objects using good communication skills. We also loved playing dishes and domes to meet our OAA objectives!
In computing this half term we have been working really hard. In our lessons we have already met many objectives!
We have been able to:
Write our names using a keyboard (finding a capital letter.
Use a backspace button to delete letters.
Use a computer mouse to draw a picture.
Open a saved file on Purple Mash.
This half term, our curious crew have been busy spotting autumn treasures - crunchy leaves, shiny conkers, and long sticks! They got creative with cutting and sticking, designing their own cosy autumn outfits. Then it was time for an outdoor adventure, turning into nature detectives with checklists in hand, hunting for all things autumn around the school grounds.
On Wednesday, we took our exploration of the senses outdoors for an autumn walk. Surrounded by the sights, sounds, smells, and textures of the season, we immersed ourselves in nature and discovered how our senses come alive outside.
Wishing you all a wonderful half-term break filled with fun, rest, and a spooktacular Halloween!
