A heartwarming initiative dedicated to fostering connections between generations while preserving the Filipino American community's cherished history and cultural legacy in Seattle, Washington. This project encourages participants of all ages to unite to discover and appreciate Filipino American culture and landmarks, foster meaningful conversations, share cherished memories, and strengthen bonds across generations. By collaborating in this collective endeavor, we aim to safeguard and enrich our cultural heritage and community spirit.
Our community space operates as a Filipino Bakery / Cafe + Bar. We serve all-day breakfast, lunch rice bowls, an assortment of house-made pastries, a single origin coffee program, and brunchy cocktails. Hood Famous™ is located in the historic Publix Building in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District. Originally built for migrant workers, the Publix was home for many Filipino cannery workers and farm laborers. There is a rich history of the Filipino community’s presence in Seattle’s historic Chinatown International District, known to some as Filipino Town. Since opening our Cafe + Bar in 2019, we reclaim and contribute to this history through our cuisine, Filipino style hospitality, story telling, and outright visibility.
