A Touch of Understanding 

Type of Internship: Unpaid Internship, part-time
Internship Description: Are you looking for ways that you can truly make a difference in children’s lives? We are looking for those interested in spreading the message of inclusion and who want to be a part of the ATOU Family, either as a speaker or to support our team with our workshop activity stations. Activity Instructors: Volunteers assist students with program activities. ATOU volunteers interact with students and guide them through activities at each station. Many help with loading and set-up of presentation equipment.  Program Speakers: Individuals with disabilities share their personal stories and answer students’ questions. Speakers introduce new perspectives and provide insight through their honest stories and willingness to engage. High school and College students may earn community service hours by volunteering with ATOU.
Requirements: Currently ATOU has volunteers from 9 years old to 85 years old. Anyone under 16 is asked to be accompanied by an adult. Fingerprinting is required for each

American River Conservancy

Type of Volunteer Opportunity:  Part-time,  Summer only
Job Description: Volunteer camp counselors are needed for summer Nature Camp with American River Conservancy.  
Age Requirement: We are looking for teens fourteen years and older who enjoy working with children ages 4-11.  Counselors will work with other teens and adults to deliver a summer day camp experience involving hiking, games, learning about nature, and water play.

Blue Oak Elementary Fall Festival

Type of Volunteer Opportunity:  Part-time
Job Description: Carnival Games Volunteer - Volunteers will supervise outdoor games such as ring toss and corn holes and pass out candy/prizes to participants.
Requirements: Volunteers must supply their own transportation to and from the event.

El Dorado County Youth Commission

Type of Volunteer Opportunity:  Unpaid, Part-time (twice per month September - May)
Job Description: The Youth Commission is supported by the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors (BOS) and El Dorado County Office of Education (EDCOE). Appointed student Commissioners are empowered to gather and express the opinions, ideas, and visions of our county’s youth, while gaining valuable leadership skills and knowledge about our county and local government.    
Age Requirement: Grades 9-12 may apply. Must be at least 13 years old.

Description: Learn about how the many careers with parks work together for the ultimate mission. Our internships are with our Interpretation and Education Division located in Sacramento, there you will learn about the many educational programs we provide to the public, discover all the different careers with state service, and make connections that can help you with your future.

El Dorado County Mineral and Gem Society

Type of Volunteer Position: Part-time, Seasonal (details will be provided), Unpaid
Description: Lapidary artists and rock collectors wanted! Our internship program includes a one-year family membership as well as a chance to collect rocks and learn how to turn them into objects of art. The commitment is 3 days of training during winter break, and 2 hours each month of the spring semester (after school). All of this, including all the additional Society activities are free with your active participation. This is a great way to earn a college scholarship from our society (even if you do not major in geology). We have many volunteer opportunities available to help set-up, work in the kids activities, and clean-up after our Annual Rock and Gem Show. The Show is held the second weekend in April. All adults and teens can volunteer (and get in free!). Please contact us using our website in February or March.

El Dorado Hills Community Services District

Description: EDHCSD has served the community for nearly 60 years, and currently owns and manages approximately 535 acres of land comprised of 254 acres of parks and 281 acres of open space throughout El Dorado Hills. The District manages the funding of all District programs and facilities for residents of all ages. We oversee and operate Community Pool, Gilmore Senior Center, EDH Skate Park, enrichment programs for all ages as well as Youth Services through the Recreation Department. Resident Services includes CC&Rs, Design Review Committee, Registration, and contract services. There are multiple opportunities available. Marshall Gold Discovery

Description: Junior Volunteer opportunities at Marshall Medical Center vary depending on organizational needs and availability of volunteer positions. Possible volunteer opportunities include:

• Greeting visitors and escorting customers to appropriate department or staff member

Description: Sierra Wildlife Rescue is looking for several volunteers to complete our team for the May - Mid-August season.
