Working for the Student Council (StuCo) is a merit on your CV and you will receive a certificate for this work. At the end of the autumn term students can join the student parliament to have a say in what the council will work on during the academic year. Out of the students who participated in the parliament session a council will be formed. The work of the StuCo is supervised by Anna Rustén-Bergenwall and Susanna Ekelund.
DP1 and DP2 students can get CAS for active participation in StuCo. Financial support is given to the “Abis” and Old Dances, and also basic services, like a microwave oven and a kettle for student use are offered by StuCo.
The Council tries to equip Mattlidens with what the students need and wish for. The school gym has been planned and furnished by StuCo, and maintenance is also a Council responsibility.
Gaming events, parties and Mattdagen with the Talent Show are all organized by the Student Council.
The Student Council actively works for a feeling of togetherness and wellbeing in the school and gives the students an opportunity to affect decisions made in school.
The student council rules for everybody
Everyone’s right to study without disruption should be respected.
Please behave properly among others in all school facilities and online. A smile can save someone’s day!
Be a role model for the younger students. We don’t drink alcohol or smoke on school grounds.
Clean up after yourself by the microwave oven and the sofas and keep the rest of the school clean as well.
Keep the gym tidy! It was partly financed and completely planned by the students themselves.
Put your empty cans and bottles in the bottle-bank bins in the classrooms and hallways. The money will go to improving the atmosphere in the school.
The fundamental objective of the tutor programme is to create a school community that everyone wants to be a part of. The tutor students contribute to a positive atmosphere based on their presence and respect of both the community and the individual. Tutors are selected through an application process and are trained during the spring term of their first year. This training programme prepares the tutors for creating a feeling of unity and helping new students off to a good start at Mattlidens.
The tutors are responsible for the welcome day and other activities at the beginning of the school year. The teachers who coordinate the tutor programme are Krista Kaipainen and Jon Rikberg.
