Information and Schedule for Pick-up of Student Belongings

Dear Nose Creek Families,

We want you to know the staff at Nose Creek School is thinking about all of you during this unprecedented time in our lives.

With the sudden announcement that schools will be closed until further notice, we need to ensure all personal items are available for pick up by parents or guardians. We would also like to take this opportunity to collect school-based materials. In accordance with AHS guidelines, we have created an alphabetical “social distancing” schedule that must be strictly followed as we need to ensure that we are limiting the number of people in our building.

Please read the following information carefully:

• Students are NOT to enter the building, please keep them at home. Parents/Guardians are to come to NCS and pick up/return items.
• Alberta Health has directed schools to have zero tolerance for anyone with any respiratory symptoms. Should you show symptoms of COVID-19 (e.g. fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, fatigue, headache, muscle aches, and including symptoms that may seem like a mild cold), you are asked not to come to the school.
• To limit the number of people in the building PARENTS/GUARDIANS are asked to follow the schedule outline below

While here, PARENTS/GUARDIANS are asked to:

• Pick up personal items from lockers
• Return school materials such as instruments, textbooks, books from the Learning Commons, etc.
• Check lost and found
• Please note that this is not a time to try and meet with teachers. Staff (teachers and support staff) will be available to support parents with picking up and returning items only

To ensure this process runs as quickly and smoothly as possible, please do the following prior to entering the building:

• Talk with your child/ren about where their locker is located.
• Grade 4 Parents, please talk to your child/ren about what is theirs in the lockers as they share a locker with another student
• Bring a bag for loose items they may have in their locker
• Consider that we are trying to limit the number of people in the building at one time
  • We will continue to clean areas throughout the day to ensure safety as best as possible
• Remind your child/ren that they are NOT to be entering the school
• Please email nosecreek@cbe.ab.ca if you cannot make your scheduled time and we will try to accommodate a different time this week.

As always, when new information comes out you will be informed through regular media, emails, social media, etc. Continue to take care of yourself, family, friends and neighbours as we navigate our current situation together.

Welcome back to school! This is a friendly reminder about the January Healthy Hunger events.

• First Cobs Nutrition Break is NEXT TUESDAY (Jan. 14) – please order by midnight this Thursday (Jan. 16^th).
• First Fun Lunch is Jan. 22 – with our local Panago Pizza! (Located by our local Cobs Bakery on Country Hills Blvd). Order deadline is Friday – Jan. 17^th.
• Second Cobs Nutrition Break: Tuesday January 28^th. (Order deadline Thurs. Jan.23 – same day as NCS Science Fair!)
