Founded in 1947, the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City is an established leader and innovator in the education of artists. One of the largest independent colleges of art in the United States, SVA encourages applications from international students who demonstrate a passion for art, a potential for growth, and a serious commitment toward becoming a professional artist.
SVA has 16 buildings spread across midtown Manhattan and offers 11 Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) degrees and 20 Master degrees. SVA also has the largest faculty of any art school in the world, with over 1,000 professional artists teaching.
The School of Visual Arts is accredited nationally by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) and regionally by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

SVA offers 4-year, Bachelors of Fine Arts degree programs in: Advertising, Animation, Cartooning, Computer Art, Computer Animation and Visual Effects, Film & Video, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design, Photography and Visual and Critical Studies.
