Design and develop a wooden amplifier, a 3D laser cut lamp shade, jewellery or a personalised engraved chopping board. Learn how to design and develop innovative products to suit a design need using industry processes and software such as illustrator, CAD and Upstudio.

In the “World of Food” elective, you will experience foods from different cultures around the world, including Indigenous foods, and places like, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Africa. You will discover special ingredients and cooking methods from these regions and understand why certain dishes are important to each culture. You will also get to cook traditional recipes, which will help you learn new cooking skills and appreciate different cultures. You will see how things like income, community traditions, and cultural backgrounds affect what people eat. 

The subject will teach you about the science behind cooking, like what happens to food when it’s cooked. You will get to create your own recipes by using this knowledge and thinking creatively. This class will give you a good understanding of food technology, combining cultural knowledge, science, and practical cooking skills.

Learn about the fundamentals of Textiles; understanding fabrics, how to machine and hand sew, sculpt with fleece, knit and weave. Have you always wanted to design and print your own fabrics? You will explore digital drawing and photography to explore innovative techniques, such as fabric printing or transfers in order to construct a unique bag. Within the semester, students will explore different themes, come up with original artwork ideas, find inspiration from around them, create artworks and evaluate the creative process. Artworks can range from bag design and construction, decorative hand/machine stitched ornaments, t-shirt prints, felting and clothing construction.
