To kick start the term, we have jumped straight into our novel study, focusing on How To Bee by Bren MacDibble. The story follows Peony, a young girl working on a fruit farm in a world where bees have been killed off. When her Mother arrives to take her away from everything she has ever known, will Peony's git and quick thinking be enough to keep her safe?
With our transition to high school getting closer and closer each day, we have been spending our maths lessons revising our mental and written maths strategies as well as exploring how we can use tools, such as spreadsheets and calculators to support our learning. It has been super fun to learn all about and explore a range of new tools to help us!
This term, we are focusing on power and how we can use digital technologies to support grade 5's moving into grade 6. To start us off, we have been exploring how digital tools have changed over time and the ethics involved with using technology
During our Personal and Social learning sessions, we have been focusing on how we can create an environment that supports a wide range of people, including those who are different from us. We worked to create goals for creating our own safe environments. Ask us about them!
