Scrabble Letters
Each letter of your word has a number of points. Write your word, then say the letters aloud and look at it's points. Write the points for every letter, then add up the total points.
e.g. Garbage = 2+1+1+3+1+2+1=11
e.g. Carpet = 3+1+1+3+1+1
Repeat for every word.
Word Search
This is an example of a word search.
You will be creating a word search with your words.
1. Draw a grid like the one above.
2. Write your spelling words below the grid.
3. In each box will be a letter. First you need to write your word and it has to be horizontal, vertical or diagonal.
e.g Johnny is at the very bottom, horizontally. e.g. Apple is written vertically.
e.g. Wagon is written diagonally.
You can also write your word backwards. For example, if you used the word basket, you can write it like this = teksab. It's just basket written backwards!
4. Once you've written in all your words, all that's left is to fill in the rest of the boxes with letters.
Smaths
