Homework Expectations
All students are required to complete four spelling tasks across the week (one per school night) which are submitted to their classroom teacher each Friday. These are completed in addition to daily tasks in the classroom on their assigned weekly spelling list.
Year 5: 4 x spelling tasks
Year 6: 2 x process tasks and 2 x application tasks
Process and Application Tasks
The tasks across the SMART Spelling website have been categorised into either application or process tasks. In summary, the process tasks practise the physical writing of the word (such as bubble writing) whereas the application tasks explore the meaning, etymology and context of words supporting students to incorporate them into their vocabulary.
