The issue I’m discussing with my production is the overwhelming nature of modern society, the economic, political, social pressures being exacerbated by things like social media, and how it is affecting the mental health of many.
I intend to make a metal concept album that tells the story of someone who feels completely and utterly overwhelmed by everything going on around them, and the ways they attempt to cope with these feelings.
I am making this album using my pre existing knowledge of songwriting and music production, which i have slowly been developing over the past year or so. Using my home studio in my bedroom, I will record all the guitars and bass using amp simulators to negate the issues of recording an actual amp with microphones (also my guitar amp just kinda sounds like trash). I will also be programming all of the drums using a drum sample library from Mixwave. This will all being recorded into Logic Pro; my DAW of choice.
It is my intention that my album will convey a message of hope. A message that says; while everything may feel like too much to cope and it may feel like there is no end in sight, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. I want my audience to hear my work and personally connect with the story, possibly because they to have felt the immense weight of living in a world that does not stop, working through that emotion to ultimately feeling comforted by the message of hope.
