Week 2 Reading

Learning Intention:

Week 2 Learning

Monday 19th July -

Read your good fit book independently for 10-20 minutes and then draw how you think the main character would look. Remember, we all interpret books in our own way, so you will need to use your imagination. Please use coloured pencils, crayons or textas to complete your picture.

Have a go at using the Reciprocal Reading roles when you are reading your book.

Predictor - Can you make a prediction about what is going to happen next?

Clarifier - Are there any words you don't understand that need to be clarified?

Questioner - Can you come up with some questions about the text? Are they explicit or inferential questions?

Summariser - Can you come up with a short summary of what you have just read?

Tuesday 20th July -

Read your good fit book independently for 10-20 minutes and then draw the setting how you imagine it. Pick up on any adjectives the author has used to describe the setting. Has the author used any Figurative Language? If you notice any, write them down. Remember, we all interpret books in our own way, so how you picture the setting is a combination of the description from the author and your imagination. Please use coloured pencils, crayons or textas to complete your picture.

Wednesday 21st July -

Read your good fit book independently for 10-20 minutes and then write down any 'problems' the character(s) have or are experiencing in the story. Write down what your prediction(s) are for how these problem(s) can be solved for your character.

Thursday 22nd July -

Read your good fit book independently for 10-20 minutes and then write a short summary about what you have been reading this week. List what happened in the story to the main characters and any other important information that happened.

Friday 23rd July - SPECIALIST DAY

You are required to complete 3 out of the these 5 tasks today. All of your sessions for today will be asking you to complete these activities. You will need to go to the drop down menu and select the specialist of your choice.

  • Physical Education - (Mrs Burt)

  • Art - (Mrs Rose)

  • Music - (Mrs Eichner)

  • Performing Arts - (Mrs Barnett)

  • Indonesian - (Mr Rose)

Once you have completed 3 of these activities, you must submit evidence of your work to each of the specialist teachers through dojo. Each of your specialist teachers are joined to our class dojo so you will need send it to them.
