All staff and volunteers are ambassadors for our school in the local community. The way we present ourselves makes an impression about what we value:
Wear clothing that is professional and appropriate to the classroom situation (e.g. short skirts would not be appropriate if you work on the floor with students, t-shirts are only appropriate on Sports Days etc.);
Ensure that safe, appropriate footwear is worn at all times whilst on site, i.e. thongs and strapless sandals are not allowed;
Do not wear singlets or ripped clothes to school (e.g. jeans with holes);
Choose clothing that is considered professional during school events;
As a rule of thumb, the minimum level of formality in staff dress code is smart casual. The level of formality should increase when you are required to represent the school in interacting with the school community.
All children have the right to feel safe and well, and know that they will be attended to with due care when in need of first aid.
All staff members at Abbotsford Primary School have a valid first aid certificate. Please refer any (your own or children's) first aid needs to your partnering teacher.
Volunteers should not provide first aid to children unless they have a valid first aid certificate.
The full Department Health and Safety and Wellbeing Policy is available on the school website.
The full Inclusion and Diversity Policy is available on the school website.
