Individuals and families are further protected from large overall expenses for PBS-listed medicines through the PBS safety net.
Once individuals have spent $1457.10 (2022) within a calendar year on PBS listed medicines, the patient pays only a concessional co-payment rate of $6.80 rather than the normal $42.50.
