Using the 'Average of 6 data sets (2018-2020)' table, complete the following actions to create three charts - one for each of the three plant species you have chosen to graph.
Select the following rows simultaneously: (hold the ‘control’ key to highlight multiple rows)
Distance
Your chosen plant species, eg. Grey Mangrove
Click on 'Insert '/ 'Chart'. A chart will appear that needs to be edited.
Click on the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner of the chart box and select 'edit chart'. This opens the 'Chart Editor' at the right of the screen.
Whilst in 'Chart Editor':
- Change the 'Chart type' to 'Combo Chart'.
- Make sure your x axis has the 'Distance' data
- In 'series', click 'add series' and click on the grid symbol.
- select the whole row called 'Elevation normalised as %' and input into the 'select data range' box. Press 'OK'. A line will appear in your chart.
Click on the line to select it. In 'Chart Editor', change the chart 'type' to 'area'.
In Chart Editor / Customise, click on 'Vertical Axis' and set the maximum value to 100.
Click on the 'vertical axis' title and change it to read 'Percentage %'
Click on the 'Chart Title' and change it to read 'Abundance of 'your chosen plant species' v's Elevation along transect .
In 'Chart Editor' /'Customise', click on 'Legend' / 'Position', then select 'right'.
Click on the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner of the chart. Select 'copy chart' to then paste it into your Lesson 7 worksheet.
