Due to privacy laws, anyone aged 14 years or older has to get their own statement. They can do this:
Online, by setting up their own myGov account and then accessing their Medicare online account
through the Express Plus Medicare mobile app
by calling the AIR enquiries line. It can take up to 10 business days to get your statement in the post
by asking their doctor or immunisation provider to print a copy for them.
These are a listing of all your vaccinations recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR). The AIR is a national register that records vaccines given to people of all ages in Australia.
You can get a statement from the AIR.
It is important to check your immunisation history first to ensure you definitely require the vaccination and then look to book an appointment.
A range of health services provide bookings for a vaccine appointment such as:
General medical practices
Local council immunisation clinics
Community health centres
Aboriginal Medical Services
Pharmacies
University
Under the National Immunisation Program routine vaccinations (such as MMR - measles, diphtheria tetanus and pertussis - whooping cough) are free until the age of 20.
some would need to be checked with the vaccination provider.
Other vaccinations outside of these have a cost.
