Tempe High School's Rovers is the entry ensemble for all wind, brass and percussion players entering the THS Ensemble Program. Rovers is Tempe’s new-and-improved Concert Band equivalent: students will learn crucial ensemble skills and rhythm while performing New Orleans Jazz style festival music. Rovers are ready for any celebration, performing at community street fairs, and school events like the Athletics Carnival, Wear It Purple Day, and the 150th celebrations.
Rehearsals: 3:15-4:15pm on Wednesday afternoons in P5
Instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Saxophones, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Sousaphone, Marching Percussion
Experience: Aimed at year 7-8 students, beginners to Grade 3 AMEB equivalent. More experienced students are also welcome to join.
Private tuition: Encouraged but not required
Sheet music reading skills: Helpful but not required
