Each year, the NSW Department of Education require schools to complete the Check In Assessments in late Term 3. These are reading and numeracy assessments that are conducted with Years 3-6. Year 6 students also complete a writing assessment. 

This week, students in Years 3-6 will complete these assessments in regular class time, while Year 2 students will work in the Wubaray room during these times. 

These assessments are extremely valuable for many reasons, including giving teachers a point-in-time snapshot of students' strengths and areas for development. They also provide a great opportunity for students to practice online assessments, which become increasingly common as students progress through NAPLAN in years 3, 5, 7, and 9, then onto the HSC.
