This term in Science, we’ve been exploring the power of force and its role in movement and design. As part of our learning, the children investigated First Nations toys, discovering just how resourceful First Nations Peoples are in creating clever, engaging toys from natural materials found on Country. Inspired by this, we decided to connect to Country ourselves, searching around our school for natural resources to craft toys that use force to operate. Didn’t we thrive! The students engineered rockets, wands, boomerangs, javelins, propellers and more, all made from items gathered from our school. The project was a huge success, with students working independently and with persistance!
