One of the really special things about being a part of a small school is the strong feeling that develops in us all that we're a part of one big family. We care for one another, support and encourage each other and celebrate each other when we learn something new or experience success.
One way we are beginning to celebrate and encourage each other is our new Bobs Farm Family Celebration Wall. It has been created in the principal's office as a way to acknowledge the unique and beautiful students in our school and celebrate them for who they are and when they achieve their personal goals.
The students enjoyed listening to what we find is special about each of them, and audible cries of "Yep! That's them!" or "100%!" echoed through the building as each little acknowledgement was read out.
One by one, the students are now coming to visit Mrs Baxter to share what they are most proud of and set a goal they are going to work towards this term and into next. We can't wait to start celebrating them as they are ticked off!
So far, we have goals like:
My goal is to:
get better at drawing indigenous art.
improve my sentence writing so I can get onto a new book.
dunk on the hoop by the end of term.
complete my work without needing reminders from the teachers to concentrate.
get to level 5 in reading.
improve my running speed around the court area.
improve the realism in my drawings.
