Miss Brien & Miss McMillan

We have welcomed two university students to our school this week for the rest of Term 2. Miss Brien will spend most of her time in the Wubaray room, while Miss McMillan will be in the Guparr room.

WUBARAY

It’s been a wonderful couple of weeks at school, filled with creativity and exploration! Our students have enjoyed engaging with exciting new intentional play areas. We’ve been discovering how the sun changes landscapes. So we studied Monet’s famous haystack paintings, where he captured the same landscape in different light—then tried painting our own versions. Alongside this, we’ve created talking/yarning sticks, deepening our sense of connecting to country and storytelling. Healthy eating has also been a focus, and students have loved designing their own placemats. We look forward to many more inspiring experiences together!

GUPARR

It's wonderful having Mrs Burns back in the Guparr room.

Part of the explicit teaching routine is to activate prior learning to help us comprehend new concepts. Here we are brainstorming what we already know about two-dimensional shapes.
