Term 1, Week 3, 2026
WELCOME TO THE 2026 SCHOOL YEAR AT BOBS FARM PUBLIC SCHOOL!
What a beautiful week we've had to start the year. Last Monday morning felt like a big family reunion, with lots of welcome-back hugs and smiles. We also welcomed several new students and families, who have settled in perfectly.
We started the week with a whole-school yarning circle, sharing some of our favourite things and learning about how to help each other if we're feeling nervous or worried. Soon after, the children made their way to their 2026 classroom, which was exciting for everyone.
For those who live nearby or drive along Marsh Road regularly, you may have noticed many vehicles at the school during the holidays. If you have been inside the school gates since, and even into the classrooms, you will no doubt have noticed just why that was. The teachers (and their extended families) voluntarily spent much of their vacation time turning classrooms into spacious, inviting learning spaces and clearing the playground to create safe, beautiful play areas. They did this because they are so passionate about the school and the children, and want to provide the best possible learning environment for them that they can. They simply love doing it!
I want to thank all of these staff and their families for giving so generously of their time, energy and enthusiasm. Their efforts certainly haven't gone unnoticed and are greatly appreciated. I know the children have been really excited and happy to learn in these spaces already because they've made lots of positive comments to us all.
On the same note, I also want to express an ENORMOUS thank you to our P&C members, Vicki, Keiran, Rhiannon, Emma N (Aunty Em), Adam H and their children for also donating so much of their time and energy during the holidays to revamp the canteen and playground. If you haven't seen it recently, take a peek through the windows and you'll see it almost looks brand new, since it's been repainted and some appliances replaced. There will be more announcements in the coming weeks about upgrades for the play spaces as well. Stay tuned!
There are so many exciting opportunities coming up this term for the students, so please keep an eye on the School Bytes Parent Portal Calendar and the fortnightly newsletters for updates. Be sure to set reminders for yourself so you don't miss any of the fun!
This Wednesday, 11th February, students turning 8 this year and older will be attending the Small Schools Swimming Carnival at Beresfield Pool. Families are welcome to attend and cheer our students on! Feel free to bring your streamers and pom poms! It's Bobs Farm's turn to host the event, so we will also be calling for some parent volunteers to help with jobs like timekeeping and helping make sure students get to their correct races. The P&C have graciously agreed to host a Cake Stall on the day, so anyone who can donate goodies to sell (preferably homemade) or help serve at the stall will be greatly welcomed!
Monday, 16th February, we will be holding our annual "Parent Information Session". This will be a great opportunity for parents to learn about what changes or plans are in place for the school and classrooms this year, as well as a chance to ask questions to any of the staff. We'd really love to see you all there.
Most importantly, our P&C AGM will be held straight after school on the following Wednesday, 18th February. We'd love to see as many of our families there as possible. You don't need to volunteer for a job, but of course, you're very welcome to if you wish. Simply come along to see what it's all about. Laughs are guaranteed, and there's usually a tasty little snack on hand as well!
I'm looking forward to seeing you all and working together with you and your child's teacher to make this a happy, rewarding and enriching year in their learning. I know we're going to have a great year!

The staff began the year with a before-school breakfast on the first Staff Development Day. (Miss Kish joined us before 'Baby Kish' arrives very soon!)
The mantra in 3-6 for 2026!
Don't know who's more excited to be back at school - the kids or the teachers!
