This term both classes will be focusing on music during CAPA time. (Creative and Practical Arts).

The current concept we're learning about is BEAT. The beat is the 'pulse' of the music, which generally remains consistent throughout the song. We explored keeping time with the beat through body percussion and in the primary class, we learnt how we can notate beats with symbols like crotchets (a one beat count), how the beat is measured (for example, in 4/4 time meaning there are four crotchets per bar, counted 1, 2, 3, 4), and demonstrated how the emphasis can be placed on different beats, such as the first and third notes in a bar.
