🏁 End of Term Update
As we reach the end of another busy and successful term, we are proud to celebrate the incredible effort and progress our students have made in both literacy and numeracy. It has been a joy to see students challenge themselves, build confidence, and develop a genuine love of learning.
📚 Literacy Learning (K-6)
Throughout the term, our students have continued to develop strong reading and writing skills through structured, engaging lessons.
K-2 students have made impressive gains in phonics, reading fluency, and writing simple, clear sentences.
3-6 students have worked hard to improve their comprehension by exploring a wide range of texts.
➗ Numeracy Learning (K-6)
In Numeracy, students have built on earlier learning to tackle more complex problems with confidence.
K-2 students have deepened their understanding of number patterns, place value, and are using flexible strategies for addition and subtraction.
3-6 students have made strong progress with multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and real-world problem-solving tasks.
We are proud of the way students are growing as capable, independent mathematicians.
✨ Holiday Learning - Easy Ways to Support at Home
School holidays are a wonderful time to rest and recharge, but they also offer great opportunities to practise literacy and numeracy in fun, meaningful ways. Here are some simple activities to try at home these holidays:
Holiday Journals: Encourage your child to keep a simple journal, writing about their daily adventures or special holiday events.
Story Time: Read together regularly - bedtime stories, library books, or even recipes and signs when you’re out and about.
Word Hunts: Go on a word scavenger hunt at home, in shops, or at parks. Look for sight words, letters, or specific sounds.
Cooking Together: Let your child help measure ingredients, count items, and estimate cooking times when preparing meals.
Shopping Challenges: Give your child a small budget and help them work out what they can buy, compare prices, or calculate change.
Board and Card Games: Games like Uno, Monopoly, and Yahtzee are fantastic for building number sense, strategy, and turn-taking.
