Leadership at its finest - Jackson remembered a time when he was young, when the high water tank sat on a concrete slab. Determined to return it to its former glory, he simply picked up a shovel and started digging and scraping, trying to reveal that slab. Pretty soon afterwards, his mates joined in.
This is exactly the kind of leaders and community members we have in our school - they see a need and get straight into supporting each other to do something about it, no questions asked, just rolling up their sleeves and getting on with it. Thanks so much, boys, for contributing to our school in such a proactive and positive way! We hope you're proud of yourselves! We're looking forward to seeing it finished soon.
The playground, like most nearby properties, remains heavily impacted by water. Whilst the water has subsided somewhat, it's been replaced by thick mud. Gumboots are still encouraged with slippers or crocs, a suitable classroom option. We're trying our best to avoid trudging the mud into the classrooms. Mowing the grass has been virtually impossible of late, so hopefully we can catch a break in this weather to allow us to get on top of it soon. A huge thank you to LETTUCE IN gardening service for helping prune and weed our overgrown gardens recently.
The water also creates a challenge for car parking. We appreciate that the path is sodden and difficult to navigate, but please avoid walking children along the road if possible.
