This week, Brax brought in his special scarf and beanie, lovingly knitted by his aunty, to share with the K-1-2 class. He was able to show our class these precious items and explain how they help him feel connected to his tribe and his country. As part of our learning about connecting to country, Brax’s visit was a wonderful opportunity for students to see how personal items can hold special meaning and strengthen cultural bonds. The K-1-2 class loved having a visitor in our room and learning more about connection, family, and culture. Brax’s sharing helped consolidate their learning in History about the importance of special mementoes, and inspired students as they prepare to present their own treasured items that they have been busily working on.
