What will I learn?
You will:
warm up with simple movement combinations
follow instructions to count to 100
listen and clap along to the beat
perform the 'Howdy Partner' dance
follow and perform the 'Cowboy Dance' song.
Before you begin
Are you ready for some more dancing fun?
You'll need:
a clear space to dance safely
a device to watch the video clips.
You might like to dress up in a simple cowboy or cowgirl costume, such as a neck scarf, hat, check shirt, or a pair of jeans.
- Warm-up
Play the Howdy Partner music.
How many of these movements can you do?
bounce up and down
clap your hands to the right and left
clap your hands to the right and left while bouncing up and down
left foot to the side and bounce
right foot to the side and bounce
raise one arm above your head and move it in a circle
raise the other arm above your head and move it in a circle
tap your right heel in front with your toes up
tap your left heel in front with your toes up
stamp right foot
stamp left foot
Practice each move 4 times – try to keep in time with the music!
