What will I learn?

You will:

  • warm up with simple movement combinations

  • follow instructions to count to 100

  • listen and clap along to the beat

  • perform the 'Howdy Partner' dance

  • follow and perform the 'Cowboy Dance' song.

Before you begin

Are you ready for some more dancing fun?

You'll need:

  • a clear space to dance safely

  • a device to watch the video clips.

You might like to dress up in a simple cowboy or cowgirl costume, such as a neck scarf, hat, check shirt, or a pair of jeans.

  1. Warm-up

Play the Howdy Partner music.


How many of these movements can you do?

  • bounce up and down

  • clap your hands to the right and left

  • clap your hands to the right and left while bouncing up and down

  • left foot to the side and bounce

  • right foot to the side and bounce

  • raise one arm above your head and move it in a circle

  • raise the other arm above your head and move it in a circle

  • tap your right heel in front with your toes up

  • tap your left heel in front with your toes up

  • stamp right foot

  • stamp left foot

Practice each move 4 times – try to keep in time with the music!
