Dapto High School offers a range of VET courses that can be studied while completing your HSC. 

Dual accreditation
Industry curriculum frameworks provide students with the opportunity to gain industry-recognised national vocational qualifications under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as part of their NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC). 

VET Uniform & PPE
Students are not required to buy a VET polo shirt for each course if they are studying more than one course.

VET courses are run to industry standard and students are expected to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: enclosed leather shoes,  steel cap boots, aprons to be able to participate in practical learning activities. 

LLN
Before commencing their VET course, all students must undertake the LLN assessment.  Students can access the LLN tool at any time and are encouraged to do so.  Click here to access the LLN assessment tool. 

Can I study more than one VET course?

Students are able to study multiple VET courses, but cannot study two courses that have overlapping competencies, these include;

Work placement

The majority of  VET courses require students to complete 70 hours of mandatory work placement. 35 hours in their Preliminary course and 35 hours in their HSC course. Students who do not meet these requirements will be `N` determined as required by NESA.

VET Trainers

VET courses at DHS are delivered by experienced industry trained professionals who have specialised skills and knowledge. Our VET trainers have a passion for their industry and are able to provide authentic industry standard experiences.
