“Engineering is the process through which maths and science concepts are applied for practical purposes”.
Throughout STEM learning students should be exposed to engineering skills and be reminded that they are using and applying engineering practices.
The eight engineering practices are:
Defining problems
Developing and using models
Planning and carrying out investigations
Analyzing and interpreting data
Using maths and computational thinking
Designing a solution
Engaging in an argument stemming from evidence
Obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information
Identifying and defining
Researching and planning
Producing and implementing
Testing and evaluating
