Special Local Places

Note: This excursion can be undertaken at either our West Head or Muogamarra locations. The lessons are designed to cover both options, so please ensure that you focus on your specific excursion site.

This resource supports teachers who will be attending Gibberagong EEC for a field excursion. The learning tasks included in this package are designed to be programmed and completed by students prior to and after attending the excursion. Students maximise their learning when they have engaged in learning tasks both prior to an excursion and upon returning to school. Students develop a better understanding of the content, knowledge, skills, values and attitudes when they have engaged in pre-learning about the excursion site, relevant content linked to the unit of study and associated learning outcomes; and post-excursion learning tasks add value to the excursion visit and consolidates their learning.

Lessons 1 - 4 are pre-visit activities.

Lessons 5 - 8 are post-visit activities.
