Term 1, Week 3
This week we have been learning about diary entries. My teacher showed the class a few different examples so that we could look carefully at the structure and different language features.
We then got told that we have to write our own diary entry for students who will be in Year 6 in 50 years time!
Even though I have been writing diary entries since I was in Kindergarten, I have never had to write one for the future.
The first step was to plan our writing. The teacher gave us a worksheet to help with our planning. Some parts of the worksheet were a little tricky to fill in but I think it will help me a lot when I have to start writing the actual diary entry.
Term 1, Week 5
Last week we finished writing our diary entries so this week we spent lots of time editing and proofreading our work.
We used a special checklist to help us. We had to tick 'yes' or 'no' to show what things we had included in our writing. I had 7 ticks for 'yes', 1 tick for 'no' and 1 tick in the middle.
The next step is for us to check our partner's work. We will use a similar checklist to check their work.
