These 50MM omniwheels are available from MTA but 80mm diameter can also be used.
Omniwheel - only used in Standard soccer, not Simple Simon.
Standard Soccer
The standard division is the entry-level division for RoboCup soccer. Robots must be made from LEGO parts only (except for certain sensors). This allows for simple construction and programming. Robots must use infrared sensors to follow a special ball which emits infrared light. Each robot must be a maximum of 1kg and fit within a 22cm cylinder size limit.
Getting started:
Build two robots – either two Spike Prime Seeker robots, or a Spike Prime Seeker and an EV3 goalie.
Robots should be built in a manner that the cross bar prevents them from going behind the goal line.
LEGO pieces cannot be modified in any way. Cable ties or tape may be used to secure wires but must not be part of robot construction.
Omniwheels are allowed in Standard Soccer.
The Seeker robot:
• Uses an IR sensor to see/find the ball and chase the ball
The goalie:
• Remains near the goal as a defender, but must keep moving.
• Uses a Ultrasonic Sensor to locate the ball and push it away.
