Simple Simon Soccer is a beginner divison. Teams are limited to only using standard lego parts and the IR Seeker ball sensor, creating a low barrier to entry and fun learning environment.
Getting started:
Build two robots – either two Spike Prime Seeker robots, or a Spike Prime Seeker and an EV3 goalie.
Robots should be built in a manner that the cross bar prevents them from going behind the goal line.
LEGO pieces cannot be modified in any way. Cable ties or tape may be used to secure wires but must not be part of robot construction.
Omniwheels are not allowed in the Simple Simon competition.
The Seeker robot:
• Uses an IR sensor to see/find the ball and chase the ball
The goalie:
• Remains near the goal as a defender, but must keep moving.
• Uses a Ultrasonic Sensor to locate the ball and push it away.
