This term Stage Three has been focusing on film reviews for our writing. We are thoroughly enjoying watching short films and learning about the proper way of reviewing them. Last term we wrote Quest Tales and some of these are included below.
Some highlights of the semester from the students; “My favourite thing about this semester was the Medieval Day at the end of term 3.” “I am excited for the movies at the end of the year.” We are all looking forward to the activities coming up, such as, Year 6 Funday, Year 6 Farewell and the end of year celebrations. All of Stage 3 are thankful to our teachers, Mrs Boon, Mr K, Mr Robson and Mr Pullen for all of the hard work they have put into making sure we are prepared and excited for the coming year. We all love Stage Three and love our teachers. Skyla 5/6B
YPS celebrated our annual Grandparents’ Day!
It was a wonderful afternoon filled with lively dance performances, a clever play by our kindergarten students, and a heartfelt speech from a proud grandmother. Guests enjoyed delicious donuts before exploring our classrooms, admiring students’ amazing work, and visiting the bustling Book Fair. A huge thank-you to everyone who joined us and supported our school — we loved having you here!
A huge thank you to all our wonderful grandparents and parents for your incredibly generous support at our Book Fair on Grandparents Day. The library was buzzing with excitement as students and grandparents explored books together, and it was truly heart-warming to see the joy that reading brings to our school community.
On the day, we recorded over $4,700 in sales, which is an amazing achievement. We were also delighted to welcome our new 2026 Kindergarten families, who joined in and purchased books to begin their learning journey with us.
Across the past two weeks, a total of $5,616.72 worth of books have been sold. The commission earned from these sales will go directly toward providing valuable learning resources for our students.
Your generosity and enthusiasm highlight the importance of reading in a child’s life, and we are so grateful for the ongoing support of our school community.
Thank you once again to everyone involved — you helped make our Book Fair a wonderful success!
On Thursday, 30 October 2025, we proudly hosted the annual Night of Notables evening. Throughout the semester, Stage 3 High Potential and Gifted students diligently developed their research and design projects, culminating in the creation of outstanding interactive learning centres, comprehensive reports, and innovative displays. The event was warmly attended by members of our community, with no seat left unoccupied. The Junior Choir delighted the audience with two performances, while our hosts for the evening, Toby, Ella, and Jess, ensured the program was engaging and smoothly presented.
This year, our students selected a diverse range of Notable figures, encompassing both historical and contemporary personalities. The chosen individuals included Josephine Baker, David Bowie, Helen Keller, Frida Kahlo, Katie Taylor, Anne Frank, Alessia Cara, Georgie Contos, Emma Watson, Zendaya, Michael Jackson, Emma Carey, Rosalind Franklin, Marie Curie, Robin van Persie, Henry Ford, Neil Armstrong, Eminem, Ryan Papenhuyzen, and Ned Brockmann. Evander was unable to attend the evening, however his report on Roald Dahl was commendable. This thoughtful selection reflects the broad spectrum of fields and achievements our students sought to explore and celebrate during their projects.
We look forward with great anticipation to the selections our Stage 3 High Potential and Gifted students will make for their Notable figures in 2026. Their continued enthusiasm and commitment to excellence promise another year of engaging and insightful projects.

What a beary exciting day we had at our Teddy Bears’ Picnic! Families joined us for a wonderful picnic on the school grounds, sharing delicious food and lots of laughter. Our favourite part of the day was the Bear Hunt. We searched high and low around the school to find all the sneaky teddy bears that our teachers had hidden! Throughout the day, we enjoyed learning activities with our teddy bear friends by our side. There were smiles, giggles, and cuddles all around as we celebrated together. It truly was a day full of fun, friendship, and furry adventures!
