Dear Parents / Caregivers,
Welcome to Term 4!
Welcome back everyone to what has been a fantastic start to Term 4! We hope you had a refreshing break and are ready for all the exciting things planned for our final term of the year. Term 4 is always a special time, a chance to celebrate how far we’ve come, finish the year strong, and look ahead to new opportunities on the horizon for 2026!
State Athletics
Two of our outstanding athletes, Rory and Channing, proudly represented our school at the State Athletics Carnival. Competing against some of the best young athletes in the state, both students demonstrated incredible dedication, sportsmanship, and determination. Rory impressed in the 100m, achieving a personal best time, while Channing showcased great strength and focus, finishing 4th in the 200m. We are so proud of their achievements and the way they represented our school with pride and enthusiasm. Congratulations to both students on this fantastic accomplishment!
Grandparents’ Day
Our Grandparents’ Day celebration was a wonderful success, bringing together students and grandparents for a memorable afternoon of connection and joy. The event began with a special assembly featuring student performances, heartfelt speeches, and a Kindergarten play dedicated to our grandparents. Visitors then enjoyed classroom visits, where students proudly shared their learning and creative work. Afternoon tea provided a lovely opportunity for conversation and laughter. It was heartwarming to see so many smiling faces and generations coming together to celebrate the important role grandparents play in our school community. A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special!
Dance Escape
Our talented school dancers recently took to the stage at Dance Escape, showcasing their creativity, skill, and passion for performance. The groups performed their amazing routines and captivated the audience with their energy and stage presence. Their hard work during rehearsals has truly paid off, and they represented our school with pride and professionalism. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to share their love of dance. Congratulations to all our dancers and their dedicated teachers for an outstanding performance!
Night of Notables
Our annual Night of Notables was a tremendous success, celebrating weeks of hard work, research, and creativity from our students. The evening gave each student the opportunity to showcase their chosen notable figure through detailed displays, costumes, and engaging presentations. Families and guests were impressed by the depth of knowledge and enthusiasm on display, as students confidently brought historical and contemporary figures to life. The event was a wonderful reflection of our students’ curiosity and dedication, and we thank all staff, families, and students who contributed to making the night such a memorable celebration of learning.
World Teachers’ Day
We recently celebrated World Teachers’ Day, a special opportunity to recognise and thank our dedicated teachers for the incredible work they do every day. The day was filled with smiles, gratitude, and heartfelt messages from students and families, acknowledging the passion, care, and commitment our teachers bring to the classroom. Their efforts inspire a love of learning, nurture growth, and make a lasting difference in the lives of our students. We extend our sincere thanks to all our amazing teachers for the positive impact they have on our school community - not just on World Teachers’ Day, but every day of the year! We are lucky to have the best of the best at YPS!
Kindergarten Orientation
Our first Kindergarten Orientation session was a wonderful success, welcoming our newest students and their families to our school community. The children enjoyed exploring their new classrooms, meeting their buddies, and taking part in fun, hands-on activities that gave them a taste of school life. It was lovely to see so many excited faces and supportive families as our future students began building confidence and forming new friendships. We look forward to seeing our 2026 Kindergarten class return for the next 2 transition sessions this week and next.
P&C Night Markets & Carols Evening
We’re excited to remind everyone about our upcoming P&C Night Markets & Carols Evening. It is always a highlight of our school calendar! Join us on Friday 28 November for a festive evening filled with delicious food, local market stalls, entertainment, and community spirit. It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate the year, and enjoy a fun family night out.
