There are many support services that you are able to access outside of school. This includes helplines, online forums for young people, youth services/organisations and your local GP.

You and your family might like to reach out to these services for support or to find out if their service is the right fit for you.

YOUTH SUPPORTS

Headspace – Has lots of articles written for young people on a range of topics, including friendships, mental health, work and study, gender and sexuality. You can also speak to a mental health professional via their webchat and weekly online group discussions.

ReachOut – Has lots of useful information and an online chat forum that covers a range of issues relevant to young people.

Twenty10 – a Sydney based service working across NSW, providing a broad range of specialised services for young people 12-25 including housing, mental health, counselling and social support. They host LGBTI+ friendly hangouts on Discord and other events throughout the year!

Phoenix House – Each year, Phoenix House provides support programs to more than 500 young people each year to help them realise their dreams and aspirations, unlock their potential, achieve their goals and transform their lives. This includes youth counselling and life coaching. The centre is located very close to school in Crows Nest (less than 10 min walk away!)
