2 units for each of Year 11 and Year 12 Board Developed Course

Year 11 Course
The focus areas in the year 11 course include multimedia computer systems, operating computer systems and Multimedia design including image creation, sound creation and video.
The following sections are taught in relation to the relevant focus area:
· Industry Study – structural, technical, environmental and sociological factors, personnel issues, Occupational Health and Safety
· Design, Management and Communication – designing, drawing, computer applications, project management, literacy, calculations, graphics
· Production – display a range of skills through the construction of a major project
· Industry Related Manufacturing Technology – understanding of a range of materials, processes, tools and equipment, machinery and technologies
Year 12 Course
The focus areas in the year 12 course include multimedia elements such as text, graphics, audio, video, animation, the world wide web and intellectual property.
The following sections are taught in relation to the relevant focus area through the development of a Major Project (60%) and a study of the relevant industry:
· Industry Study
· Design, Management and Communication
· Production
· Industry related manufacturing technology
Particular Course Requirements
In the Year 11 Course, students must design, develop and construct a minimum of 2 projects. Each project will include a management folio. Each project may emphasise different areas of the Year 11 Course content. Students also undertake the study of an individual business within a focus area industry. In the Year 12 Course, students design, develop and construct a Major Project with a management folio. They will also undertake a study of the overall industry related to the specified focus area industry.
