So let's put our practice at mark making into practice and pick some objects that you could find in your neighbourhood in your backyard or on one of your walks with your family. Here's my collection of beautiful things from nature.

Look at that. Such a range of different textures, shapes and patterns. Let's have a look.

Look at the patterns and textures in that beautiful banksia seed pod. Here's another type of seed pod. Look at those triangular little sharp pointy bits in there. That would be fun to have a go at drawing something like that.

Or we might be walking on the beach and find something with some nice fine lines in a beautiful shell. Spiral shapes on that beautiful shell [mmmm]. Or spiky ones like this one.

And I think some of you have already done some leaf drawings.

Look at the beautiful patterns in that little bit of coral. That would be fantastic to draw something like that. Maybe on your walk you could find something like that.
