So line can be used to create patterns.

I'm doing zigzag lines here. Repeating using repetition hard, soft, very soft, repeating one zigzag shape. I could do it with different patterns too.

We could do lots of little circles. Bigger ones, little ones, tiny ones, hard ones that stand out more. Even down to making little dots called stippling. And we're repeating different types of marks, lines and patterns.
