How to write an Aim
The aim identifies what is going to be tested in the experiment. This should be short, concise and clear.
The aim should also include both the independent and dependent variable
Example:
The aim of the experiment is to test whether increasing the amount of light exposure to plants will increase the amount of glucose created through the process of photosynthesis
An experimental hypothesis is a statement that predicts the effects of the independent variable on the dependent variable.
It should be written in third person and be as specific as possible. There is no single way a hypothesis needs to be written but it is often written as an "if ... then..." statement.
Example:
If the temperature of the 5mL of 1 mol/L hydrochloric acid is increased, then the rate of reaction with the 1cm strip of magnesium ribbon increases.
If amount of light exposure is increased, then the presence of starch will also increase
