At our Kindergarten Information Expo or at our Kindergarten Orientation session, parents will receive a Parent Information Pack. Resources to help students complete the following activities can be found in these packs.
Click on the video and watch Mrs Williams, one of our Kindergarten teachers read the story "The Rainbow Fish" by Marcus Pfister. With adult support, your child can then follow along with Mrs Williams to complete the craft activity and create a sparkly, beautiful rainbow fish. Children will need a printed copy of the Rainbow Fish Outline (you may download a copy from below or use the copy provided in the parent information pack), a glue stick and coloured paper.
Click on the video and watch Miss Fryer, one of our Kindergarten teachers read the story "Ten Black Dots" by Donald Crews. With adult support, your child can then follow along with Miss Fryer to complete the craft activity and work on developing their recognition of numbers 1 to 10. Children will need a printed copy of the worksheet "10 Black Dots", black paint and a cotton earbud.
Click on the video and watch Miss Layoun, one of our Kindergarten teachers read the story "The Very Busy Spider" by Eric Carle. With adult support, your child can then follow along with Miss Layoun to complete the craft activity and work on developing their fine motor skills. Children will need a paper plate, scissors, hole punch and twine/wool.
Click on the video and watch Miss Hook, one of our Kindergarten teachers read the story "The Day the Crayons Quit" by Drew Daywalt. To help your child to learn their colours, they can then follow along with Miss Hook to complete the crayon activity.
Click on the video and watch Miss Fryer, one of our Kindergarten teachers read the story "I need a Hug" by Aaron Blabey. With adult support, your child can then follow along with Miss Fryer to complete the craft activity. Children will need a paper plate, scissors, black marker and colouring-in pencils.
Click on the video and watch one of our Kindergarten teachers read the story "The Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle. Join Miss Layoun in making a special name caterpillar. You will need paper plates (one for each letter of your name), two strips of black paper, paint, a paintbrush, marker and sticky tape. Your child can follow along with Miss Layoun to create his or her own name caterpillar.
