The Mosman High School GAT Basketball Development Program aims to build basketball skills to competitive NSW Interschool Competition levels.
The program has increased over the past decade to now include anywhere from 11 to 19 teams participating in the local Manly Warringah Basketball Association (MWBA) competition, with many teams making final playoffs in their first year.
The Sports Committee proudly supported two Mosman High GAT Basketball Squads, U15 and U17 boys, in 2023, 2024 and again in 2025 to attended the National Australian Schools Championships in the Gold Coast, with the U15s taking home a bronze medal and the U17s achieving gold in 2023. In 2024, the U17 team found themselves with another medal after their performance at Nationals, taking home bronze.
The GAT program also feeds into the NSW Interschool Knockout Competition. In 2024, our 15s Boys Team placed 3rd in the state for public schools, and in 2025, the Open Boys Team found great success within the tournament, placing 3rd in the state.
The GAT Basketball Program is currently open to boys and girls from Years 7-11. Whether new to basketball or with some experience, it is a great social team game to be involved in.
Athletes are chosen at trials for teams and begin squad training under the supervision of highly respected qualified external coaches Luke Cooper (boys) and Phil Webster (girls).
